Long Beach Rescue Mission has an open position for a Chaplain within our Men’s Ministries Department. The Chaplain position specializes in Biblical counseling, recovery assistance, and program coordination for residents in our long-term New Life Program. It is the responsibility of the Chaplain to assist with residents’ needs that encompass advocacy, counsel, teaching, and facilitation to promote lasting life change and stability, from a foundation of relationship with Christ. The right candidate will be a mature Christian as evidenced in personal life and work ethic, with a heart for ministry for those who currently struggle with homelessness, addiction, and other life-controlling problems. Must be able to offer Biblical counsel that can be practically applied to daily life, have a teachable spirit, and be a team player. Requires knowledge of God’s word, good organizational and administrative skills and the ability to effectively set, keep and model healthy boundaries. Must be computer literate and possess strong interpersonal skills. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Prefer a bachelor’s degree in a related field but will consider related experience in lieu of.
