Giving thanks for YOU

Taylor has a NEW LIFE in Christ this Easter!

Taylor lost both his parents by the age of 4. “My dad was trying to duck responsibility and ran off. Then my mom got hit by a drunk driver,” he shares. He was placed in foster care for the next two years until he was adopted. “That contributed to my generalized anxiety and depression,” he says.

As he got older, he turned to alcohol. “I’d just get out of control,” he recalls. “My lapse in judgment always got me in trouble.”

A skating accident left him with an injured leg and unable to work. When his roommate moved, Taylor had nowhere to go.

“I am thankful for the Mission because they have given me a positive, safe place to stay.”

He arrived at the Mission and joined our year-long New Life Program. “When I came here, I was spiritually broken and on the verge of a mental breakdown,” he says. “I was worried, not knowing what was going to happen and not having a plan.”

Our spiritual-based program helped restore his faith in God. “I try to live by faith now. It’s really helping me out,” he shares.

He has also learned to be less judgmental. “When I came here, I didn’t know how people would be,” he explains. “I found out that everybody pretty much gets along. There are people with mental health or physical problems, but we always try to help them out.” He is grateful to the Mission for giving him a sense of community, guidance and more confidence.

Taylor plans to go back to school and eventually get a physical job. “I just want to see what’s out there first,” he says

This Easter, Taylor is experiencing the gift of new life! He has been transformed and empowered to begin his next chapter – thanks to your support! “The Mission helped me to start working and building positive habits. It put me on a better path.”
