There are more than 3,200 people experiencing homelessness in the city of Long Beach. Our Search and Rescue mobile outreach team drives throughout the city engaging those we see on the streets offering life-saving supplies and compassionate care.
Volunteers provide essential toiletries, food, water and other supplies to the people we encounter and offer them services and shelter at Long Beach Rescue Mission.
Our heart is to encourage those we see offering them hope, prayer and a listening ear. There’s a story behind every person we meet and together with our volunteers we are cultivating relationships and establishing trust with a vision to see their lives transformed by the power of the Gospel.
Interested in volunteering or have questions about our outreach? Get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator Lala Derico — lalad@lbrm.org or (562) 591-1292.
Search and Rescue teams are led by experienced staff who focus on the safety of the volunteers and sensitivity to those we serve. This is a one-of-a-kind, potentially life-changing volunteer opportunity for you!
We would like to thank our sponsors Dion & Sons Marine Fuels and the Leaving Kingdom Footprints Foundation for making this important ministry possible.
