Celebrating a Milestone
Friday, July 13, was a night of prayer, praise, testimony and the celebration of 12 graduates of LBRM's New Life Program. This milestone represents a year of faithfulness, perseverance and trust in God in their journey towards independence. Read the testimonies of these and other past graduates here.
LBRM's 4th Annual “Your Light Matters” Gala Fundraiser was highlighted by special music, community service awards, silent and live auctions, and of course, great food, all of which made for a wonderful gathering. But the overarching, predominant element which permeated the event was the esprit de corps shared among sponsors, guests, volunteers, staff and all co-laborers gathered to celebrate and foster changed lives. We really could not do what we do without you. Thank you all for your faithfulness! View the 2018 Gala gallery.
Easter—God's Love On Display
Because of many faithful volunteers and donors, LBRM's Kids' Fun Day, Easter Basket Giveaway and Easter meals were a great success as attested to by plentiful smiling faces. Families and individuals by the hundreds partook in this celebration as they shared in the joy of Easter. Our hope is that everyone who comes to the Mission experiences a demonstration of God's love and is filled with a desire to know Him.
A Thrill of Hope
Christmas dinner and breakfast at Long Beach Rescue Mission were a great blessing to our neighbors as hundreds of meals were served. Thanks to the faithful donors, volunteers and staff who teamed up to serve the LB community and bring “a thrill of hope” to so many. Thank you, and merry Christmas to you all!
For over 40 years, Long Beach Rescue Mission has celebrated the birth of Christ with our annual Christmas Toy Giveaway, distributing toys and stockings to children in our community. This year, 2,454 toys were given away! Thank you to all who make this event possible, and for helping us bring Joy to the World!
Faces of Gratitude
Whether it was in the privilege of giving or in the blessing of receiving, gratitude was in abundance at LBRM's Thanksgiving dinner and breakfast in our cafeteria at the Samaritan House. And we at the Mission are every bit as thankful for those who gave and worked and sacrificed to make it all happen. God bless you all!
Lydia House Chosen for Renovation Project
The Long Beach Community Foundation has selected Long Beach Rescue Mission for their 2017 National Philanthropy Day project. It is an honor to be chosen! Our board, staff and volunteers teamed up on October 21 to renovate the outdoor area and provide a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for residents of the Lydia House. Thank you, LBCF!
...Thanks to You!
The 2017 Long Beach Leadership Prayer Breakfast was a wonderful blessing, thanks to the Sponsors, Table Hosts, individuals guests and volunteers who collectively made it possible. The event included great food, music, and many inspiring words. But most of all, it accomplished its stated purpose: “to unite community leaders throughout the City of Long Beach to pray together and receive God’s help, encouragement and blessings.” See you again next year!
Thank you to the donors and volunteers who made it possible to distribute 1,400 backpacks to needy students of nine local middle schools this year. Your support is giving children the tools they need to succeed!
